Playing Card Efficiency

We were handed 14 cards to make an eight inch structure with a four inch base out of playing cards. Our goal was to have the most efficent structure of the three groups. My groups structure did not withstand any weight while testing, due to lack of balance. I believe that if we would have designed our base wider then it would not have been so weak and strengthend  the balance. While we were revising we realized the balance would become a problem, so me and John put cards in between the layers to help keep it from leaning even more. The revision did not help strengthen the balance enough to support the five pounds applied. Joel and Wade's design had a maximum design load of 10 pounds as did Mishia and Will's design.
